Statistics Tutors

statistics

Statistics is much like math; it builds upon itself. Taking an introductory class in statistics as a high school or college student can help a student to decide whether to continue a course of college work in this or a related field. As a student climbs the ladder of knowledge in statistics they will also be required to climb the ladder of knowledge in mathematics.

A beginning level class in statistics will introduce topics such as: Summarizing Data and Pictures of Data; Mean, Variance, and Standard Deviation for the Binomial Distribution; Estimates and Sample Sizes of Proportions; Fundamentals of Hypothesis Testing; Claims about a Variance or Standard Deviation; Correlation and Regression; and Multinomial Experiments, etc. A student interested in furthering their college career in statistics will likely take some of the following upper level courses: Data Analysis and Statistical Inference; Probability and Statistic in Engineering; Bayesian and Modern Statistics; Introduction to Statistical Consulting; Statistical Methods in Bioinformatics; Spatial Statistics; and Statistical Inference (to name a few).

Receiving a degree in statistics and becoming a statistician can lead to many fascinating career opportunities in Health and Medicine, Business and Industry, as well as within our Government. Whether joining the ranks of the public or private sector, statistics plays a large role in society. Being well prepared during college courses with the aide of a mentor and a private tutor can help the student transition into a professional.

Elementary Tutors

Elementary school is the beginning of your child's education, where a life long love of learning should be fostered. The basic skills and study habits your child gains in elementary school are the tools that will carry him or her throughout life. Elementary students learn about reading, math, writing, spelling, science, social studies, music, art, computers, and physical education. Elementary school should be a positive, nurturing environment where children are introduced to learning.
