I love to teach children mathematics. Many students are afraid of mathematics since they were not given the right approach towards the subject. The key is to be strong in the fundamentals and add a little bit of practice.

Teaching Style

My teaching style is unique in that I make sure the student can start with the fundamental basis of all learning. Especially in the Sciences you must make sure that the student has no misunderstood words or nomenclature regarding the subject, give them plenty of mass on the subject via demonstration and visual aids and finally make sure not to skip any gradients in regards to student comprehension. These are screened through class participation, demonstration and word checking.

Experience Summary

I retired from a rewarding field of Chiropractic in 2000. During that time a treated many celebrities and rose to the top of my field. Since then I have enjoyed continuing to work with the public through instructing Anatomy, Physiology, and Pathology and other related Sciences in various Massage and Skin Care Institutes. I find the work rewarding and wish to find the setting in which I can continue to make a difference in peoples lives.

I enjoy sharing my education and experience as well as figuring out how each individual student learns and how to adapt my style to fit their needs. Since I have a degree in special education and ESL, I have used many different methods of teaching. As a teacher I see myself as a facilitator. I want my students to be in charge of their learning, not me. I often ask a student “leading questions” instead of just giving them the answer. I also consider the audience when I am teaching. I ask myself...Are they familiar with our customs or not? Do they know our idioms or not?

I have a MS in Varying Exceptionalities. I also have 18 hrs of ESL. Currently, I am working on 18 hrs of English. I have taught pre-school through adults. I have taught many different kinds of students. I have taught international students, ESL students, and native speakers of English. I have worked in pre-schools, public schools, private schools, language schools, and colleges. I have tutored many different kinds of students from foster children to adults.

I believe in diversity and development. My experience of coming to this country as a Non-English speaker has taught me a lot about different learning styles that helped me learn the language quicker. As an eastern European native, my educational background was always strong and learning was always my number one priority. I have earned my bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, which has enabled me to gain an understanding in many areas of math and science. Furthermore, I have always loved creative writing and in 2001 at University of South Florida, I earned the Excellence in Writing Award.
